What is HOT YOGA?

  1. A series of postures designed to work every muscle, organ, gland, cell, and tissue in the body
  2. Elongation and extension of muscles using heat therapy
  3. Elimination of waste and toxins by increased heat and humidity

Benefits include: muscle toning, balance, weight losss, stress reduction, increased flexibility and strength.

Classes are 60-65 minutes. ALL classes are HOT, with the exception of Yin, which is warm.

Types of Classes

Hatha

Hatha is a 60 minute class that is based on traditional postures and breathing exercises. Hatha is practiced in a heated studio. It is challenging and exciting which that heals, detoxifies, tones the internal organs, cleanses you from the inside out. Hatha Yoga also works every muscle, ligament, tendon, organ, gland, cell, and joint in the body. It builds strength, flexibility and balance, and increases your cardiovascular and circulatory systems, while burning up to 1000 calories a class.

Inferno Hot Pilates

Inferno Hot Pilates was founded and created in 2009 by Master Instructor, Gabriella Walters. Using Pilates prin­ci­ples, Inferno Hot Pilates class is a challenging, full-body, low impact, high inten­sity work­out. It is per­formed on a yoga mat in a room heated to 95 degrees and 40% humidity. Hot Pilates strength­ens mus­cles and burns fat — all with­out the joint impact of a high impact work­out. It is designed for all fit­ness levels. Since 2009, Hot Pilates classes have been popping up on schedules around the world. Existing Hot Yoga studios have been rapidly adding Hot Pilates to their schedules. Inferno Hot Pilates is currently taught in 200 studios across 5 different continents.

Weights & Bands - Inferno Pilates

Weights & Bands – Inferno Pilates is the ultimate high intensity, low-impact interval training performed on a yoga mat at 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 C.) with 40% humidity. Each instructor is expertly trained by the founder of Inferno Hot Pilates to teach technically correct forms help students avoid injury and get the most out of each move. $5 weight rental required.

 

Power

Power is fun and fresh! You will learn the alignment and form of basic postures using breath with each movement. This practice is also done in the heated studio. It is an amazing, fun and challenging workout. Power yoga combines classic lunges with deep stretching and balance which will quickly strengthen your muscles, tighten your core and burn body fat. It is designed to soothe the nervous system, balance hormones, build cardiovascular strength, and improve the digestive system.

Vinyasa

This style is a sequential movement of asanas which interlink to form a continuous flow. One will learn the linking of body movement with breath using static asanas into a dynamic flow. The length of one inhale or one exhale dictates the length of time spent transitioning between postures. Asanas are then held for a predefined number of breaths. Attention will be placed on the breath and the journey between the asanas rather than solely on achieving perfect body alignment in an asana, as is emphasized in Hatha.

Fusion

Power + Hatha combination

Yin

Unlike our other classes held at BHY, this class is not hot. Postures are held for roughly 3-5 minutes. All postures are practiced on the floor (no standing postures) and focus on the connective tissue.

VIN/YIN

Gentle Vinyasa flow flowed by Yin postures.
